Ahh, the joys of fangirling... With lots of fangirls...
Well. Several fangirls. A mob would be scary.
SO, went out with Lichen, Lady Bast, Courtney, and my wonderfully crazy brother. The theater had changed the showtime, so i'd been scrambling to call everyone and notify them to get there thirty minutes early, but i could only get Lichen, sincs everyone else appeared to be gone somewhere *else*. Lichen saved the seats while my brother pestered her about ninja squirrels and dead bodies, and I waited outside to rush the other two into the theater. BUT, it was all okay since the movie started thirty minutes late anyway.
Fact of life: you can never get enough of LOTR.
(ok, minni movie review here. SPOILER AHEAD!! Of course, i loved it. Watching it in Korea the first time screwed me up a little, though, since they subtitled the Elvish in Korean and i missed out on several possibly-crucial-but-weren't conversations. Everything was beautiful, i was really impressed with the fight scenes and the techniques the different cultures used. I can deal with the elves at Helms Deep, the exorcist style return of King Theodyn, and the star-crossed affair between Aragorn and Arwen. The only qualms i had were: 1] the ending. it felt too much like, sorry, gotta keep it in the 3 hour limit, c ya next time! I really think the suspense would have worked out better if they ended it where frodo dies. the non-readers would be hooked for certain, and they might even read the books if they hadnt already. 2] they killed off Haldir for the dramatic effect. granted, i didnt particularly like Haldir, especially since he tends to be bastardized by the fan community, bastardized meaning the character becomes aggressive and/or sexually dominant, even to the point of being a rapist. So, i never really liked Haldir. But still. They just killed him off. Maybe Peter Jackson reads fanfics too and didnt like Haldir either... BUT!! Aragorn and Legolas made it all better. I mean, really. Who can concentrate on the little flaws with Legolas skateboarding down the stairs. And, on yet another side note, i thought it was funny as all the hells combined that when everyone rode out of Helms Deep on the fifth day, before dawn, they just bowled over the orcs. I mean, why didnt they think of that before? Just ride out and knock em off the not-so-narrow ramp. Who needs a sword when you have a fat horse?)
Well, now, back to the origional topic. After the (wonderful!!) movie, we all went to Bennigans to eat. It was lots of fun. Im having trouble remembering some exact quotes right now, its late, so ill have to post some later. For now:
"But i dont *wanna* be a daddy. I wanna be a girl like yooouuuu..." - a little boy to his (presumed) mother
There was a guy at Bennigans with an NSYNC t-shirt. From the tour. With sparkles. I tried to take a picture but the thing wouldnt work. Somebody should shoot him. I didnt have any weapons on me, since im not in the habit of going out armed when im going to a movei with confirmed friends.
and the rest will have to wait till tomorrow.
Ja ne!
