was talking to lichen about my new blog. she asked what it meant, the name.
So, according to several references:

meditation, focal point, the creation/destruction of the universe...
its a symbol of purity in thought, trancendental widsom, the search for truth...
the eternal cycle of life and death, the everflowing united circle of brith and decay...

its a pretty flower...
and, of course, i couldnt resist the obvious asian reference.
