The following will not be understood by those who are not familiar with the anime and/or manga of Ranma 1/2.

Reads fanfic by Purple Mouse.
For some reason, sees Purple Mousse.
Mental image: instead of a purple furry woodland creature, pictures a purple duck with glasses.
Realizes the mistake.
Realizes just how long I've been reading the fic and how many times i have actually looked at the name before i realized my mistake.
Giggles.

me: Mushrooms! And Hobbits! Maybe that's why they're so short and have hairy feet! And they *are* always smoking, you know.
brother: ...
me: You know! Merry and Pippin and "Look! There's some MUSHROOMS!" because hobbits are just like that?
brother: no.
