Two days and counting
Packing isn't going quite as I'd planned. The idea was to get the random decorations and stuff Monday, clothes Tuesday, organize and reshuffle the computers and laptops Wednesday, and have Thursday and Friday for the leftover odds'n'ends.
Mice and men, ja?
Monday I barely managed to get my books packed... and Tuesday morning, bright and early, despite my complaints that I wouldn't get any packing completed at this rate, my dad took my (rather, I took him) to register to vote. On the way back, around 9-ish - which would have left me plenty of time to pack, as promised by daddy - during the course of our conversation I happened to mention mp3 players.
By noon, I had an mp3 CD player and cassette adapter thingie and we were heading to West Monroe to get XM radio for his car since the WalMart in Ruston didn't have any roadies left in stock. En route, we called my mom and she decided she wanted to come along too.
We got home around 2:30. At 2:50 my dad realized he had to run to the bank before 3. And somehow, several banks later, we ended up at a RadioShack for the third time that day. After that we initialized and fiddled with the new radio attachment the way home. So no work accomplished all day by any of us.
Although, I admit I'm proud of the family effort at procrastination. ^^
And today... I actually did more than I thought I would, considering that I've been listening to HP Order of the Phoenix all day. (It's over 26 hours long!! o_O)
The clothes are all packed in those vacuum bag things, blankets are all nicely washed and ready to go, and all my books are either in storage or sitting in my car. I expect my computer will be boxed up tomorrow, and the server moved to my desk since my dad sold the other desk and my brother still needs the server.
I'm not really certain whether I'm looking forward to moving or not. The closer we get to it, the more hassle the little details become.
I have a few last-minute gifts I need to drop off. I may venture into Monroe tomorrow to do that... and Choudrant, too, now that I think about it.

While cleaning out my bookshelves (again!) I found my yearbook from last year. I went "aww" and read the comments people wrote... and then I read the commentaries that Laura wrote to all the other people's comments. x_X
Yay to quirkiness that makes me smile~
Now: lighting candles for the hell of it, hiding my Harry Potter books from my mom, and trying to find the best method for packing all my alarm clocks. Song that's stuck in my head: the first half of Funny Honey from Chicago.
Celdaon and sakuras in my room.
See you in Colorado~
