School starts in two days...
... and I still have some questions about the bus system... and I would also like to change one of the classes I signed up for ( I think i have two weeks to change)... plus some other nitpicky things I still need to take care of...
So in general I think it's entirely too soon for school to start. ^^;;
But~ at least all the registration and orientation stuffs are over with. ROTC orientation was... an experience, that's for sure. I've discovered yet another something I should not take up as a hobby... but I think it's not entirely my fault that my peripheral vision sucks and therefore causes me to be horrible at staying aligned in drill. But I don't think I would have liked it much even if I were good at it. My dad was on a drill team in the Army, and he's in total disbelief that his offspring is bad at it >_<
There were 40 incoming freshmen midshipmen at first, but two of them... eh... opted to leave. The first one (dumbass) had cigarettes and chew and a spitbottle in his locker... and he forgot to lock it properly. Baka. So the Gunny chewed him out in front of all of us and threw his shit on the floor, and *we* had to clean it up. Clever, actually, because whereas some of us might have pittied whatshisname had he just been kicked out, by making us clean it up we were all, or mostly, terribly irate at him for his sheer idiocy. Ye gods and fishes, that stuff stank.
The other guy- I don't remember his name either- randomly showed up while some of us from 2nd platoon were spending the day with 1st platoon and cleaning like mad... we were cleaning our house like mad and all of a sudden whatshisname was there with the mop and said to me, "The Gunnery Sergeant think's I'm crazy." "Eh??" "He sent me to the mental ward." "Oh. Okay. Who're you?"
o_O? I'm still not sure if he was in my platoon or the other... but either way, he's gone now.
But, smelly tobacco produbst notwithstanding, it was a great experience. Not that I thought so at first, mind you, but by the end of the week the hours between chows seemed to get shorter and the yelling was not quite as loud... but then again, most of the staff was going hoarse by the third day. That was our fault, of course ^_^
Graduation was ok... My mom's horrible at taking pictures, although I do admit the camera's delay thing is annoying. So the only pics I have of my ROTC orientation graduation are of the girl beside me and the tip of my cover behind the person in front of me. >_<;;
I'm looking forward to school now that I know some people, though~
I'm signed up for 15 hours, which I hear is the recommended amount for beginning. I'm taking Korean this semester~ my mom's estatic... but the only reason I'm taking it is because Japanese was all filled ^^;; But it may be fun~ now perhaps I will be able to chat with my aunts and such. Something like that.
Oh, we don't have a TV in the house anymore~ after my dad - did I blog about this? - got his XM roadie for the van, he got another one for the apartment so now we just listen to FoxNews or old 40's radio shows or the comedy station. Has anybody heard those old radio programs before? And then there's those delightful random commercial songs like Brill Cream and Al-Ka-Selt-Zer-Plus~!!
^___^
Matta~
I'm tired. Church tomorrow. Korean church. Sermon in english? Hope so.
Ciao all~
