Third week into school, and I think maybe I can get the hang of this.
^_^
This weekend sucked... badly. I didn't expect to spend eight hours doing security for the football game Saturday. It was interesting, actually. In an academic, analytical kind of way. We (the people working that night) had on yellow jackets with hoods that marked us as ARGUS employees, and we were all given a list of things that were not allowed in the stadium. Oddly, umbrellas, little footballs, and solid fruit were on the list. The most asinine people *weren't* the drunks or the only slightly tipsy people trying to smuggle in drinks. No, they were the country club grandfather types bellowing that they'd been alumni/member (of something)/attending games for THIRTY FIVE YEARS! And that little football was for their GRANDSON!
...
At any rate, I have -so- much more sympathy for airport security people now.
So~~ latelate before my parents could come pick me up. Midn Phippeny walked me to a place where my parents' van could easily access and avoid the mass exodus traffic... and then it started raining. I wanted to drive her home but... there was so much traffic she would have made it faster on foot, and she wanted to hurry and go home. So I felt really bad about it... >_<
Sunday morning I had to get up bright and early to help clean up the messes of 55000+ people. I wanted to go to Denver and to the Korea church... but we finished at 11:20, and church started at 11. And I really think if we'd been more organized toward the end, and paid more attention to the wind direction when we were all sweeping, we may have gotten out in time.... but oh well.
So after that I wanderd around Boulder for an hour or so. I bought Sarah a pretty picture frame and a cellphone holder thingie for her birthday... then I got coffee, which perked me up a little bit. I bought a cute little teacup and some paper to... er.. .wrap? the special tea I'm going to give Phippeny tomorrow for being so nice~
I went home and wrapped the presents and felt generally ill. I needed to take a nap... but I didn't really feel sleepy at all. I ended up in a really wierd, lonely kind of mood, so I just went to bed and hoped I'd feel better later. Long story short :: I got my parents to watch Big Fish with me and then I did feel better ^^
Today, however, was much much nicer. My parents were going to take me to a Japanese restaurant, but I veto-ed that and went for Italian... and then I opened my presents and decided that two of them needed returning (one because I dont know what they were thinking, and the other because it was men's cologne and not perfume.) and *that* meant going back to Denver.
^__^ So we went to Denver, and we ended up having lunch at the Korean restaurant with the Yoons. Yummy lunch, nice conversation, and we took Sarah to Buckley with us and then back to Boulder. And after we got home, Phippeny called to wish me a happy birthday. ^_^ that was completely unexpected and for some reason made me even happier. Not a particularly eventful birthday, but a nice one just the same.

I realized just after we got home that I needed to go to study hours, so I spazzed and ran off with just my notebook. >_<>
I need to check my korean homework... because I swear I didnt have any... and I need to find Phippeny's birthday... and I must nor forget to bring my extra cake to the wardroom tomorrow.
