You know what really annoys me?

Being beta-read by idiots who take it upon themselves to insert grammatical blasphemies in flaming red ink without first consulting a more accurate source of information other than their dubious mental store of Daily Oral Language memories from grammar school.

Especially beta's that can't write in complete coherent sentences, cannot tell a semicolon from a hyphen, don't know the purpose of inserting brackets for clarification, or aren't even aware of the limbo-like status of the American Oxford comma.
