On the Bayou

Or very nearly, anyway.

Plane delayed
Arrival in Denver: 1744 MST 06 AUG 2005
Arrival in Louisiana: 1345 CST 07 AUG 2005

Driving straight from Denver to Choudrant takes about 24 hours~ I never would have guessed.

CORTRAMID is finally concluded, and while it was an incredible experience, it's nice to be -home- even if it is a home that I thought I'd left behind for good. The last night in San Diego, a bunch of us -Anie, Amanda, Hope, Margaret, Matt, Alex, and Carl- went out for japanese food, then Ghiradelis. Yum~~ real rice! T'was bliss... Anie and I were having Korean food withdrawals, and since the nearest K-town was a 60$ ticket away, we settled for the nearest thing that wasn't Panda Express.

So now I'm back in Louisiana for a week or so. I'd really like to give the Insoms (ah... nostalgia) a call since I don't know if I'll ever come back out here (My brother's family is moving to Colorado in a month, so there won't be any reason for me to come to visit) But I'm hesitant to try to get together on such short notice.

I guess I'll be babysitting my nephew (He's walking now!!!) and finishing the church website for the duration of my stay here. I'm certainly going to avoid the outdoors... the longer I stay away from Louisiana, the more I understand why the first attemped settlers here delcared it inhabitable.

San Diego was lots of fun, and has even more character than Boulder at times.

Louisiana is humid but, I'm forced to reluctantly admit, comfortable and familiar, if only due to fast fading memories and the abundance of sweet tea.

Still~ there's no place quite like home.

Colorado, I'll be back soon.
