I just spent an hour trying to figure out a formula I have in my notes (with no explanations!! I was nodding off in class... my notes were subpar that day) for thermal radiation.
Amanda has just informed me that sigma is a constant.
This makes my life considerably easier.
Deborah: i looked through the whole book thrice, reorganized my notes (even punched extra holes on some printer paper notes), tried to figure out the example problem i have in my notes with no explanations, and googled thermal radiation.
Deborah: thank you. you are a lifesaver.
Amanda: lol, glad to help
Deborah: in fact, i'll leave some for you with your patch
Deborah: Candy! whee~

Event of the day:
Walking to Korean class this morning (which I was not the least bit late for, this once!! Laud and applaud me, please!) I was listening to some music and had stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk (due to my inherent distrust of pedestrian/driver relations) alongside a guy who apparently didn't care much for blindly leaping into oncoming traffic either.
The car stops, yay, smile vaguely and wave, moving along... until, to the background of my music I hear something odd.
After removing one of my headphones, I confirm that yes, something behind me is growling. As in, Arrrg!! Grrrrarggrggr! RRRRGGG!
Having lived in Boulder for more than a year now, I've become somewhat acclamated to its general weirdness and the belated Talk Like a Pirate Day sounds don't worry me too much at first, but they -do- pique my curiosity.
So I duck into a walkway by a building, where another guy was leaning against a wall talking on his cellphone, and fish my phone out of my backpack so I can get a better look at what is growling.
Well, actually, it's the guy I crossed the ped crossing with earlier. I know this for a fact, because at this point he stopped in front of me and growled very loudly while hopping and wildly gesticulating in the direction we'd just come from, before going along his merry way.
Guy on cellphone: Hang on a sec.
Me and G-o-c: *peer around the corner*
G-o-c: Back. Wow. And I thought -I- had problems.
Me: !!
Yes, a agreat way to start off one's morning at CU Boulder.
